Maria José Frazão

Maria José Cadete Frazão, originally from Ribatejo, was born in 1963 in the village of Monsanto, in the municipality of Alcanena, nestled in a valley where the vigorous Alviela River gently flows – a source of inspiration for many of the simple words that invade her soul and nurture her creativity. Coming from a modest family, but one rich in affection, life experiences, and shared memories, she found the wings to “fly” and write, guided by the noblest feelings that shape her existence.

With a degree in Educational Sciences, Maria José writes driven by the emotions that have inhabited her essence since childhood. Her themes emerge from a palette of emotions and life experiences that flow through her being, seeking expression in the words she shares. Since she was a child, she has nurtured a passion for writing and a joy in sharing her work with friends or spontaneously in situations she finds meaningful. She has recited poems at professional gatherings and festive events, and her texts have been published in local newspapers, including O Alviela and O Arrife (in the municipality of Alcanena), as well as in the publication of the Ramada Parish Council.

She also contributed to the “Antologia Poética Calçadas das Letras 2014” and the Anthology of Contemporary Poetry “Entre o Sono e o Sonho Vol. VI and VII – Volume II”, published by Chiado Editora. Maria José has published two poetry books through Chiado Editora: “Mensagens de Vida” (2015) and “Nas Asas dos Sentimentos” (2016), hosting several presentations of these works.
